Goodwill Industries of Dallas is excited to announce the launch of its youth mentoring program, GoodGuides. Its mission is to empower youth who are at risk for delinquency to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their full potential. The GoodGuides program serves youth, ages 14 - 17, who want to learn about careers and prepares them for success. These young individuals are paired with a mentor who commits to working with them and assisting them in becoming a confident and engaged member of the community. We are currently seeking mentors to volunteer as positive role models for the youth participants. The program is in line with many of the family strengthening programs that Goodwill Dallas offers as well as its mission -- transforming lives through the power of work.

*Mentors must be:

At least 18 years of age (at least 16 years of age for peer mentors).

Complete a screening procedure.

Complete the GoodGuides orientation and initial training.

Willing to commit one year, 4 hours a month to the program.

Willing to adhere to all GoodGuides youth mentoring program policies and procedures.

For more information on how you can get involved, contact Jimmy Henderson, GoodGuides Program Manager, 214 638-2800 x146 or jhenderson@goodwilldallas.org or Pearce Edwards, Volunteer Coordinator, pedwards@goodwilldallas.org
