Recruiting AmeriCorps VISTA Members to serve with non-profit organizations in Knoxville, Tennessee. Candidates must be willing to commit to full-time servie for one year. Benefits include a living allowance of $11,106 annually, health benefits, and end of service award option ($1,500 cash stipend or $5,645 education award). Description
Star Center has been providing life-changing services to children and adults with disabilities and special needs throughout West Tennessee for over 25 years. These services can be summarized by our motto: "Enrichment, Education, and Employment". Enrichment is a quality that unites our six diverse services and encompasses all that we do. Education is the belief that children deserve to succeed in academics regardless of their barriers. Employment is about adults sharing their gifts and talents with the community by serving others, rather than being held back by disabilities. Our most powerful service is our commitment to each client for as long as it takes to reach their individual goals, regardless of their ability to pay.
