The African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) is looking for volunteers at our marquee institution: the TyRon Lewis Community Gym!

TyRon Lewis Community Gym is the ONLY African community controlled gym in St. Pete's impoverished southside. The gym provides a valuable service to the community, providing consistent nutritional and fitness training and resources. TyRon Lewis Community Gym has literally transformed the lives and health of many of its members.

APEDF is a non-profit organization that strives to develop and institutionalize programs to defend the human and civil rights of the African community and to address the grave disparities in education, health, health care, and economic development of the African community.

Come and be a part of our team!

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the TyRon Lewis Community Gym. We hold monthly meetings to discuss ways to make the gym a better place for the people!
