We need volunteers to help run our newly opened "Smoothie Cafe'" at the TyRon Lewis Community Gym!

If you are one of those people who loves to make smoothies every morning for yourself and those you care about, then this is the job for you! Our mission with the Smoothie Cafe is to bring healthy yet affordable food to St Petersburg, FL's southside community. The Smoothie Cafe is ous main tool in doing so.

Owned by the African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF), TyRon Lewis Community Gym is the ONLY African community controlled gym in St. Pete's impoverished southside. The gym provides a valuable service to the community, providing consistent nutritional and fitness training and resources. TyRon Lewis Community Gym has literally transformed the lives and health of many of its members.

APEDF is a non-profit organization that strives to develop and institutionalize programs to defend the human and civil rights of the African community and to address the grave disparities in education, health, health care, and economic development of the African community.

Come and be a part of our team!

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the TyRon Lewis Community Gym. We hold monthly meetings to discuss ways to make the gym a better place for the people!
