Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide young adults with the support and encouragement they need to pursue education, employment and life goals.
Description
The Point is a dynamic non-profit aimed at addressing the needs of young adults experiencing homelessness and poverty in St. Louis, MO. Many young adults lack the life skill, education, and employment skill development necessary to successfully transition to adulthood. Without the appropriate family and community support, homelessness becomes common. The Point was founded in 2012 to improve the lives of these young people through housing, education and employment support. By working collaboratively with a network of volunteers and community supporters The Point ensures that their young people develop the skills they need to be emotionally and financially stable and independent.
The organization currently operates a Drop In Center located at 3216 Meramec St. This center is open during evening and weekend hours and provides young adults with:
- A safe space out of the elements
- Regular meals and snacks
- Case Management - Support to help you achieve your goals
- Employment Support - Assistance finding and maintaining employment
- Education Support - Assistance accessing and enrolling in an education program
