About Wildlands Trust
Location:
675 Long Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360, US
Mission Statement
The Wildlands Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving land and preserving the natural heritage of southeastern Massachusetts. We work to permanently protect and steward important habitats and landscapes, including woodlands and fields, ponds, coastal areas, agricultural lands, and river systems.
Description
The Wildlands Trust will work to sustain the rural character and quality of life enjoyed by the residents of southeastern Massachusetts by protecting as much open and undeveloped land as possible, before it is lost forever.
We are one of the largest and oldest regional land trusts in Massachusetts, and since our founding in 1973, we have helped to ensure the protection of nearly 10,000 acres of natural and agricultural lands. We currently have 4 full-time and 3 part-time staff, as well as 3 AmeriCorps Members carrying out the day to day activities of the Trust. Our Board of Directors is comprised of 17 committed individuals from the communities we serve and we enjoy the support of nearly 1,200 members from around the region.
