Mission Statement

Provide comprehensive resources, connections and support for Veterans, to facilitate their success in transitioning from military service to civilian life.

Description

One Less Mountain exists to help military veterans in the transition to civilian life by providing a sense of purpose, direction, and community.

We are a veteran led non-profit that exists to facilitate the transition from military to civilian life. Our flag ship program, the Ascent Team Initiative, provides opportunities for veterans to lead a team that completes a community service project for a cause that they are passionate about. Our goal is to build a vast network of partnerships with existing non profits so as to ensure a variety o f different causes and projects that veterans can then choose from and support. We will fund these projects and, depending on their scale and complexity, award the veteran team leader with a monetary community service award, that can be put towards furthering their education or professional ambitions. This is a great way to for veterans to be a part of something bigger than themselves, to do something that matters, to create a new network, and to utilize and harness their military skills in a civilian environment, and by doing so, enhance their professional resume. The transition can be a difficult journey at times, but having a sense of purpose, direction, and community can help you "embrace the suck."
