The Central Library’s Visitor Center is located close to the Fifth Avenue entrance. Volunteer ambassadors welcome people and provide directional information about services, events, classes and meetings in the library. They also offer tourist information, directions to downtown locations and referrals to the Seattle Visitor Center & Concierge Services in the Seattle Convention Center.
Visitor Center volunteers enjoy interacting with library patrons and visitors from around the world. Qualities of successful volunteers include a friendly demeanor, patience, flexibility and compassion for people from all walks of life.
