HOUSE OF HOPE

ORGANIZATION: United Way of Martin County/AmeriCorps Seniors

Families in Martin County are hungry and you can help by giving just a small portion of your time. On Saturday, January 3 rd , Agri-gators (Palm City) will be "gleaning" potatoes for the House of Hope Food Pantry here in Martin County.

What is gleaning? Gleaning is a food recovery strategy that allows produce that is below market grade - but just as nutritious, to be harvested and distributed in Martin County instead of being plowed back into the soil.

This project begins approximately at 9:00AM and concludes at 12:00PM. If you have never participated in gleaning before, it is a wonderful and educational experience for the entire family. Children over the age of 5 can participate with an adult.

Please let me know if you are interested and I will send you further information. Space is limited.

What a terrific way to begin a New Year!!
