The Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn is a PGA Champions Tour event held October 13-19, 2014. We need over 800 volunteers to help put on such a large televised golf tournament. There are over 30 volunteer committee postions to choose from. You are welcome to volunteer as little or as much as you would like! The GHKC offers a volunteer package for $60 and if you register online before April 15th you will recieve a $10 discount. By charging for the volunteer package it allows the tournament to cover the volunteer costs so 100% of the tournament's proceeds can go back to charity.
For the $60 volunteer package you will recieve the following:
- Volunteer Golf Shirt and Outerwear Piece with Logo
- Volunteer Hat with Logo (Baseball Style or Men’s/Ladies Visor)
- Volunteer Badge for Admission and Parking ALL Week
- Volunteer Breakfast/ Lunch (Voucher provided for each working shift)
- Invitation for you and a guest to the Volunteer Appreciation Party
- Tickets to a Hickory Crawdads baseball game in August TBD.
- One Weekly Grounds Badge for ALL Week Admission for your guest
- One Golf Voucher valid for a round of golf at Rock Barn. Cart fee is required. OR one Spa Day Pass for use of the Rock Barn Spa facilities.

Mission Statement
In 2003, the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn established the Greater Hickory Classic Foundation to guide all aspects of the tournament - including the donation of all net proceeds from the tournament to charities throughout the Catawba Valley region. To date, the tournament has raised more than $1,200,000 for area organizations and in 2013 alone more than $40,000 was raised for charity through the TAP Charity Challenge. Also, Birdies For Zahra’s Playground was founded in 2011 which gave tournament patrons the opportunity to donate to the local Hickory Kiwanis Club’s Zahra’s Playground fund and $10,000 was raised during the 2011 tournament for this great cause.
