Washington Trails Association is partnering with Girl Scouts of Western Washington to provide a trail restoration work party for girls and their adults. Girls will have the opportunity to discuss the fragile environment of wetlands, learn about restoration, explore the difference between native and invasive plants, participate in a work party, meet other girls and have fun while working for a good cause!

NO prior Girl Scouting or Trail Restoration experience required! The $15 participation fee provides girls with a Girl Scout membership, 4 hour Earth Day work party, lunch, and a Go Green, Explore! kit from Girl Scouts including work gloves, a water bottle, and more! If this cost is out of your budget, please let us know for a reduced rate.

Adults are free. Girls should be in the 4th grade or higher and all participants must be able to endure a short hike, less than one mile round trip.

Space is limited, please RSVP to KingCountyEvents@GirlScoutsWW.org by Friday April 18th.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
