ORGANIZATION: The Laurasian Institution

The Laurasian Institution

The Laurasian Institution sponsors over 100 exchange students who come to the US from Japan, China, Korea, and Thailand each year. The students attend public high schools across the US and live with volunteer host families. TLI exchange students serve as cultural ambassadors in their community, both taking part in host family and school activities, as well as sharing their culture with others.

We are currently looking for community-minded individuals to help us find quality host families for these students during the 2014-15 school year. Our Local Coordinators play a central role in developing family and schools connections, and are integral to providing an excellent exchange experience for all involved. Local Coordinators are often connected to their community through school, church, or civic organizations. If you love talking to others and are passionate about cultural exchange, consider joining us today!

More information about this role and applications can be found on our website at http://laurasian.org/ayp/coordinator.htm. Local Coordinators receive a stipend of up to $1200 per student per year to cover expenses.

If you're interested in hosting an exchange student, please visit http://laurasian.org/ayp/host.htm.
