We need a driver to pick up at some of our drop box locations. Its very simple. You can request a day or a week, or offer a number of pick ups and deliveries that you can do. We'll tell you which locations we need to have checked when you say that you're available. We have 2 locations at the U of I that need to be picked up and various other locations in Champaign that could use a little checking up on. Just tell us when you're free and we'll ask you if you can swing by a certain location, in Champaign sometime that day to pick up donations and then deliver them to His Kid's Closet. With an increase in donation deliverers we may be able to increase our donation locations. Thanks so much for being willing to help us grow to help more people!

About His Kid's Closet

Location:

201 W Kenyon Road, Champaign, IL 61821, US

Mission Statement

His Kid's Closet's purpose is to help people in need by providing them with clothing and or other necessary items at little or no cost. Our purpose is to promote social welfare and relief of the poor and distressed or the underprivileged and to lead people to a meaningful relationship with God.

Description

His Kid's Closet takes donated clothing and redistributes it for free or at a low cost in the community. We are a federally tax exempt 501c3, making any donations tax deductible. We give out free clothes on Tuesdays at the Champaign WIC clinic from 9-4 volunteer support permitting. His Kid's Closet accepts donations and also accepts orders from school social workers for specific items. Teachers, parents and social workers are all welcome to identify needs and make requests. We also accept donations of non-necessity items in order to sell them to cover operational costs, as well as donations of necessity items which are sometimes sold at very low prices in order to help cover costs as well. For example we might sell a highchair or a stroller for $5, in order to see it get into the hands of someone who may NEED it. We envision growth to serve a larger portion of the community and see our overall goal as reducing local poverty, and aim to empower rather than enable our clients and hope to grow to this end.
