Becoming a Home Visit Volunteer is a great way to support PACTs mission. Home Visit Volunteers are responsible for checking prospective foster homes for safety and appropriateness before any animal is placed there. Home Visits are also an opportunity to check out the temperament of any current pets, test the fences for stability, see where the animal will be kept at night, how long the pet will be left alone, make sure the family has emergency care plans for the animal, etc.

Mission Statement
PACT for Animals is a national nonprofit that provides free, background checked foster services. PACT gives peace of mind to children, veterans and adults in acute care at local hospitals, and soldiers on deployment, by placing their pets in temporary foster homes until their owners can be reunited with the companion animals they love.
Description
Every year thousands of companion animals are surrendered into animal shelters due to temporary crises. By providing access to temporary foster homes for animals when their human companions are temporarily unable to care for them, PACT helps reduce the number of animals surrendered to animal shelters. PACT saves the lives of beloved companion animals at risk of abandonment and gives peace of mind to their human companions until they can be safely reunited. We are the ONLY active non-profit organization in the country providing this free, essential service in the animal welfare community.
PACT's offers a Military Foster Program and a Hospital Foster Program. These programs keep people and their companion animals together with every successful crisis rescue, foster placement, and joyful reunion.
All PACT Programs are FREE! PACT’s Foster Program Managers carefully screen every case, ensuring that both foster families and animals are compatible. Foster families are in constant contact with the military/hospitalized owners providing regular updates, including photos, messages and videos of their beloved pets.
At PACT we believe that a temporary crisis shouldn't mean a forever goodbye!
