The Northern California Junior Sports Camp program introduces competitive wheelchair sports and recreation activities to children and youth who have physical disabilities and who want to have fun and participate in the same sports as their able-bodied peers. This year, World class Athletes will serve as role models and provide instruction in wheelchair basketball, tennis, track and field, archery, water skiing and other recreational sports. This camp will mostly take place on San Jose State University campus from July 5-11 2015. Athletes will be housed at the dorms but the sporting events will take place on various sites around the Bay area and on campus. As part of the success of the camp we ask for volunteers to come out and help us make a difference in the lives of athletes with disabilities. We want to provide this opportunity for individuals who want to fulfill any requirements needed by their organization or school. Many who have volunteered for this camp had life changing experiences and have continued to volunteer for the camp. We believe it will be beneficial for the volunteers because we educate them not only in various adaptive sports but also have awareness and work with individuals with disabilities.

The volunteer hours depends on how much you want to contribute to. The camp hours for volunteers start from 8 am until 8 pm. You can volunteer any amount of hours between the shifts that are offered. On specific days we will be at different sites around the Bay area were our athletes will participate in sports. You can join us on those days but we do not provide transportation. To volunteer at this camp we ask every volunteer to sign off on consent and policy forms. Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need an additional signature from their parents.
