Summary: This is an opportunity to teach computer skills in using Microsoft Office applications, Social Media and any basic skills as needed to low- and moderate-income adults in Arlington, VA at the Whitefield Commons Community Resource Center; many of whom are immigrants and have limited English. They need patient and sharing individuals like you to become involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group computer instruction in a lab setting.
  • Teach Microsoft Office applications, Social Media navigation and any basic skills as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The ability to work with residents from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Social Media, Internet Explorer, and email accounts.
  • Ability to patiently explain, in basic terms, how applications work and can be utilized.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.

Time Commitment: Mondays and Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00PM. Minimum commitment of 2 hour per week. Volunteers need not be available both days to apply.
