Position Summary:

Cancer Resource Center (CRC) volunteers provide the general public with access to cancer-related information; specifically guiding cancer patients, families and/or caregivers with referrals to local, state and/or federal resources including American Cancer Society (ACS) programs and services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide resources and information from the ACS website, database and 24-hour 1-800 number
• Guide patients and family members seeking educational information
• Commitment to fostering an inviting atmosphere
• Accommodate the needs of walk-in cancer patients and families with wigs, turbans and hats from the center
• Maintain high level knowledge of ACS programs, services and community resources
• Document and track all service referrals per ACS program
• Order necessary materials to maintain stock
• Support patient services and health initiatives', project work and delegated duties as assigned
• Adhere to patient confidentiality standards at all times
