Volunteering for Project Canvas is more than just community service -- it’s life enhancing for all involved. Paired up with residents with developmental disabilities, whose dreams far surpass their immediate circumstances, artwork is just one of the magical results. Your ideas, your time, your expertise and your willingness to connect, even if just for one day a week-end, will open up their minds to seeking creativity and assisting in a personal goal of creating art to hang in their home.

The Commitment
Project Canvas volunteers have many ways to contribute to our mission:

1: Commit to a full "session", one day per week-end (for one month or until the project is complete).

2: Have a background or interest in the arts and a willingness to help lead a project of 12 residents paint on individual 18" x 18" blank canvases. We will supply the paint, brushes and canvases. You are more than welcome to bring any other supplies you see fit.

3: Have experience working with people with developmental disabilities, with various levels of performance, either in a classroom setting, summer camp, adult care, or large family.

4: Have a positive, open mind, and believe that anything is possible with vision and commitment. Live, love, and laugh.

5: A CORI/SORI check will be required.
