Flag Day Volunteers needed June 12,13,14- Join hundreds of volunteers in raising much-needed funds for our heroes served by Veterans Outreach Center. This 22nd annual fundraising event needs your support to share the mission of the Center who has been serving thousands of local veterans every year since 1973. You can register for a single 4-hour shift at any one of more than 40 locations throughout the Rochester region, where you will collect $1 donations and share small flags and pins to spread the spirit of Old Glory. Founded locally in 1973 by returning Vietnam veterans, today’s Veterans Outreach Center remains anchored in our community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families. Through the generosity of our community, all of these programs and services are provided free of charge. Our comprehensive menu of services includes: Benefits Counseling, Employment & Job Training, Education Benefit Counseling, Financial Counseling, Housing & Temporary Financial Assistance, Wellness & Creative Arts Therapy, Legal Counseling & Resources, Veteran to Veteran Peer Mentoring, Residential & Substance Abuse Services.
