ORGANIZATION: Stafford County Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival Committee

Reporting to the Fair Chair, the Operations Team will be the driving force behind the scenes to ensure that a pleasing experience is remembered by patrons at the Stafford County Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival. The Operations Team will work closely with the Fair Chairman during planning to provide input and coordinate for necessary resources and services, as well as during execution to maintain a smooth operation. It is recommended that they establish an Operations/Site Support Team (Sub-Committee) to achieve the desired goals. Additionally they will (not a totally inclusive list):

- Develop their Site Support teams and locate willing volunteers to assist Assist with the setup and breakdown of the grounds, including the Ag area and LHA as needed
- Coordinate closely with the Event Field Director and Rides Coordinator to maintain situational awareness during planning and execution
- Assist all Area Directors with support as needed
- Assist the Fair in procuring and placing necessary equipment and services
- Procurement of the use of either a Gator-type vehicle or Golf Carts for use by certain Directors and the Site Support sub-committee during the event
- Coordinate with the contractor for restroom support and assist in maintaining
- Coordinate with partners for Stage, tent and sanitation support
- Seek out and Facilitate donations of equipment to the fair to meet operational needs
- Assist with the placement of booths the morning of the Festival (vendors, exhibitors)
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Grounds Maintain the cleanliness of the CEC
- Supervises Grounds teams
- Coordinate with Stafford County Agencies (Sherriff’s Department, Stafford County Fire & Rescue elements, Zoning, BoS, Treasurer Offices, etc)
- Supervise Parking operations (including lots, volunteers, and shuttles)

Mission Statement

The Stafford County Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival Committee ("the Committee") exists to support and affirm the following charitable purposes:

  1. the education of youth primarily through those means which are used in Scouting, targeted experiential and educational activities (Agricultural Competitions, Trailblazer Program, etc.), and peripherally through other businesses and organizations acting as subject matter experts and

  2. the strengthening of ties within the community, between the people of the community, and those organizations which serve it.

Central to the youth educational mission of the committee is the fostering of creative potential and a love of the outdoors. The focus of the committee will be to provide a quality outdoor Festival, incorporating & combining service organizations of the community, businesses (both For Profit and Not for Profit), and youth organizations and educational opportunities in such a fashion as to provide opportunities for members of the community (of all ages) to attend, learn something, and enjoy themselves.

The committee serves as a reflection of the community, and the values fostered and promoted through scouting. The committee values diversity, and in accordance with committee membership policies, does not discriminate in leadership, admission or access to its programs and activities on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, religion, gender, marital status, handicap/disability, age and/or other non-merit factors. The Committee shall operate without profit, so that no part of its earnings or assets shall ever be distributed as a dividend or inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.

Description

A 501-C-3 Charity, this completely volunteeer run County Fair experience, incorporates experiential learning with empowering communities by connecting people with the businesses and organizations that provide services for them! Oh yeah....its a FREE event too! But in order to do this, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Although the Fair & Festival is always growing and evolving, it currently has an upper and lower event field, with vendors, & exhibitors, Rides, a Living History Area, an Agricultural Area, a First Responders Area, Free concerts to include the Saturday Lineup, a Saturday night Teen Jam, and the Sunday Afternoon Son-Jam, and runs the Trailblazer Adventure program and a Scout Badge Day. The 2013 event will add the Ms. Stafford Pageant.
