America for Animals is a startup nonprofit organization headquartered in California. We are a new type of animal welfare organization - one that empowers advocates to promote compassion and fight cruelty in the communities where they live. We do this by developing state-of-the-art web and mobile applications that make it easy and fun to help animals. Our apps are designed to help people find humane places to eat, meet like-minded advocates, campaign to end inhumane practices, and take other simple actions that make the world kinder for our four-legged friends.

AFA is looking for a UX/UI Designer to help us change the game for animals. You will be working with a small (but creative) group of animal welfare advocates to create new applications that enable and inspire those who want to help animals. The position would include some combination of the following:

• Creating mobile wireframes for a web application.
• Investigating the adaptability to a software platform to our web and mobile wireframes.
• Implementing the design.
• Optimizing the look and feel of the apps.

Requirements:

• Experience with responsive design.
• Knowledge of common UI design patterns for iOS and Android
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics suite.
• An eye for quality.
• A great attitude and a desire to help animals!
• Responsive and proactive work ethic.
• 5 hours per week (more welcome!)
