The All Stars Project, Inc. (ASP) is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting human development through the use of an innovative performance-based model. The ASP creates outside of school, educational and performing arts activities for thousands of poor and minority young people. It sponsors community and experimental theatre, develops leadership training and pursues volunteer initiatives that build and strengthen communities.

Position Description: The All Stars Project of Chicago is looking for a part-time, unpaid Non Profit Management Intern. This internship is an excellent way to learn more about the non-profit world, as the intern will gain experience recruiting and managing volunteers, producing and managing administrative teams, and engaging in cutting-edge best practices. Daily activities will begin with working in the Volunteer Department, with potential to expand into programming, fundraising, and event production.

Required Qualifications: A strong candidate for the Non Profit Managment Internship will: be outgoing, driven, and capable. Be able to balance working in a collaborative environment with individualized tasks and projects. Help implement current management practices, but also brainstorm, create, and implement new initiatives according to his/her interests and strengths. Have excellent interpersonal skills, and will feel comfortable interacting with Chicago's diverse populations in person, on the phone, and through written communication. Be committed to All Stars Project of Chicago's mission. Applicants must be available to intern Wednesday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mid-day. Based on availability and interests, the intern will also assist in other areas of the organization (event planning, programming, etc.). The internship is through June 2015, with a possibility of extending to the end of the calendar year.

Desired Qualifications: Outstanding applicants will have background in one or more of the following areas: organizational communication, event planning, social media, marketing, database organization and optimization. Description

The ASP sponsors the following programs:

All Stars Talent Show Network, now in its 30th year, uses a "performance-learning" approach to foster the emotional and social development of young people. Each year, thousands of urban youth between the ages of 5 and 25 participate in several dozen All Stars events including auditions, rehearsals, talent shows and development workshops.

The Joseph A. Forgione Development School for Youth is a leadership training and career education program for young people ages 16-21. It is at the forefront of a new trend in education, known as supplemental education, that recognizes non-school-based learning opportunities as critical to children's success in school and in life.

The Castillo Theatre is an independently-funded experimental off-off Broadway theatre on 42nd Street that produces postmodern political theatre, exploring contemporary topics in ways that are both thought-provoking and entertaining. It offers our diverse audiences new ways of seeing social issues, historical events, and contemporary life.

Youth Onstage! is developing the city' s new generation of political theatre artists. YO! involves young people who want to create theatre that has something to say about the world.

Operation Conversation: Cops & Kids is a partnership with the New York City Police Department. It brings young people from poor communities together with police officers in performance workshops where they learn to listen to one another and create a new kind of relationship.

UX is a free, university-style school of continuing development. It has classes workshops and field trips that are open to people of all ages.
