ABOUT US: Please read this posting in its entirety so that you can determine what will work best for your lifestyle. All medical expenses for the kittens are paid for by Candy's Cats. There are a variety of opportunities available.

ABOUT YOU:
Do you love kittens and cats but can't commit to one at this time?
Are you in college and want to have a cat since you left your cat home with your family?
Need volunteer hours for school?
Need community service hours for non-violent, misdemeanor pretrial diversion cases?
Are you retired and have time on your hands and love in your heart to share?

ADOPTION COUNSELORS
We need folks to help us with our adoptions, specifically on weekends and then once trained, during the week when appointments are made. Must be comfortable talking with people about our wonderful cats, our program, and be committed to finding the right home for our fur children. Must have transportation and be over 18 to volunteer for this opportunity.

FELINE SANITATION ENGINEERS:
We need someone to clean the cat center at the Altamonte Springs, FL PetSmart between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. It only takes about 30-40 minutes of your time. If you are available on any one of those days during those hours and willing to scoop litter boxes, sweep cubbies, and make sure our kitties have fresh water and food, our kitties really need your help. There are between 6 and 12 cats at any given time at the store for the week. We are looking for someone who will commit to one day each week. This is not for someone to come in seven days a week. This is a permanent, seven day a week opportunity and we will advertise until we have one person for each day of the week.

FOSTER VOLUNTEERS:
Maybe you never had a cat before and don't know if this is the pet for you? Fostering may be the answer for you.

WILD KITTY SOCIALIZATION EXPERTS:
THE PROBLEM:
Driving down the road and seeing wild kittens fending for themselves. Already have way too many foster cats and not enough foster homes.

Do we drive by, hoping they'll survive? Maybe someone else will take them in?

We have a number of scaredy cats who need socializing in a home environment. They are fully vetted, under one year old who have a chance to be adopted if you are able to help us to "flip" them.

THE SOLUTION?
You. The odds are against them and that is why we need you, the "expert" to work with one or two of them to help them calm down.
TIMING IS CRUCIAL! We need you NOW so please help.

The kittens may fear bite or scratch and we cannot be responsible for that.

REQUIREMENTS TO VOLUNTEER

For adoption counselors, sanitation engineers or foster homes the following requirements need to be met:
1. Must love cats.
2. Must not be afraid of cats.
3. Must not be afraid of getting your hands dirty (litter boxes).
4. Must have transportation to get to and from the vet's office, the stores, etc.
5. Being able to trim claws, pill a cat or give it liquid medicine is a plus.
6. If you are fostering, you provide food, litter and a clean, safe indoor only environment. 7. We are not responsible for personal pets and suggest keeping the foster kitties separate.
