Help Transition House to provide the families at our emergency shelter with brown-bag lunches!
We all know that a nutritious lunch is essential to get through a busy day of work or school and to stay healthy and happy in the long run. At the shelter we accommodate 50 to 70 people, over 60% are children. We are in need of volunteers who would like to supply lunch items, and if possible, come in to make the sandwiches.
The brown-bags are filled with sandwiches, one type of fruit, one type of vegetable, a salty snack, a sweet snack and a small bottle of water. Volunteers pack the brown-bags in the evenings. From Monday to Friday morning, the families take the lunches with them when they leave the shelter for job search, work or school.
Help is needed throughout the month, Sunday to Thursday.
