Description

Tulsa Partners, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization incorporated in December 2000. Tulsa Partners’ vision is to create a disaster-resistant and sustainable community. All of our activities are done through multi-sector collaborative partnerships.

Tulsa Partners is an outgrowth of the highly successful Tulsa Mayor's Citizen Corps program, Tulsa Project Impact program and City of Tulsa stormwater management program. It has an established track record for effectively developing partnerships with diverse entities, both public and private, leveraging those partnerships to develop high-impact community programs, and institutionalizing the programs within existing partner organizations.

Tulsa Partners has three focus areas, with core programs led by a steering committee representing the public, private and nonprofit sectors:

"Safe" highlights our work in emergency and business continuity planning, as represented by our core program the Disaster-Resistant Business Council (DRBC). The DRBC is led by representatives of local, regional and national organizations.

"Sustainable" highlights our environmental work with low impact development, disaster-resistant construction, and green building and living, as represented by our core program the Millennium Center for Green and Safe Living (MC). The MC is led by representatives interested in the environment, landscaping and low impact development; architecture; building trades and real estate; emergency management and hazard mitigation.

"Community" highlights our endeavors to work with diverse communities and to create partnerships to make our whole community resilient, as represented by our core program the Language and Culture Bank (LCB). The LCB is led by representatives of grassroots organizations representing diverse multicultural and multi-lingual communities.

Other events, workshops and planning activities held by Tulsa Partners also fall under one or more of these categories and are developed through collaborative ad hoc committees.
