Weekly Volunteer Opportunities as of March 5, 2014
Germantown Boys & Girls Club
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia at the Boys & Girls Club of Germantown (25 W. Penn Street)! Spend quality time with elementary school children after school on homework help, specialized programming (sports, arts and crafts, etc) and general positive mentorship! Volunteers are needed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays any time between 3:00-6:00pm.
Shane Victorino Boys & Girls Club of Nicetown
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia at the Shane Victorino Boys & Girls Club of Nicetown! Spend quality time with high school and middle school students after school on homework help, dinner preparation, and general positive mentorship! Volunteers are needed on Mondays and Wendesdays from 3:10pm-5:30pm.
Jewish Family & Children Services (JFCS)
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia and Jewish Family & Children Services! Spend quality time with JFCS teen & adult clients from the Center for Special Needs during group trips and outings! Volunteers are needed on Sundays from 12:00-3:30pm.
Playworks
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia and Playworks, a national organization that revamps recess in city schools. Through a variety of games both at recess and in the classrooms, Playworks teaches kids leadership skills, conflict resolution, and inclusion. As a volunteer, you'd assist a recess "coach" to help facilitate games and play with the students! If you like kids, if you like having fun, and if you want to be a positive role model for kids, then Playworks is the place for you! You can volunteer as little as an hour per week or everyday, but we ask that volunteers please make a weekly commitment. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday anytime between 11:00am-2:00pm.
The Homeless Health Initiative (HHI) through CHOP
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia and The Homeless Health Initiative (HHI), run through the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. HHI provides free health services for women and children living at local emergency housing shelters in West Philadelphia. Volunteers are needed to help with their weekly programs that focus on fitness, nutrition, general health education, and a new art therapy initiative! Times and locations include: Wednesdays 6:00-7:30PM at Jane Addams Place, Wednesdays 1:30-2:30pm and 7:00PM-8:00PM at People's Emergency Center, and Fridays 12:00-3:30pm at People’s Emergency Center.
West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC)
Come volunteer with Repair the World: Philadelphia and the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) at various school locations throughout West Philadelphia! Help reopen and staff local West Philly school libraries that have been closed due to the education crisis. Assist in classrooms to mentor and inspire students to love reading! Volunteers are needed Mondays through Fridays anytime between 9:00am-3:00pm.
Jewish Farm School
Give back to your community and get your hands dirty with the Repair the World: Philadelphia and Jewish Farm School ! Volunteer to work with urban farm and gardens in our newest initiative. We will connect you to volunteer opportunities with the myriad of vacant lot farms, gardens and food providers around Philly starting NOW!

Description
Repair the World is a national Jewish nonprofit, based in New York City. Founded in 2009, Repair believes service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. By 2030, Repair will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service towards repairing the world.
