On Saturday, March 21st firefighters from departments throughout the North Shore will be "firing up" their ovens for the 7th Annual Firefighter Cooking for a Cure to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Teams of firefighters from local departments will be preparing their favorite firehouse dishes and serving them to the guests attending the event all to benefit local individuals and families affected by Muscular Dystrophy.
We are hopeful that this year’s event will be the largest yet! The event includes raffles with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses and restaurants. This popular event will be held at the Danversport Yacht Club, in Danvers. We are looking for support from volunteers beginning at 4:00pm on Saturday to help with the event set up. We will also need volunteers for registration, raffles, and selling tshirts during the event, and for event breakdown at the conclusion of the event. The event ends at 9pm. Description
This is the Massachusetts office of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We raise funds in our state to support the services supplied to local familes living with any of 43 neuromuscular disease covered under MDA including ALS. The funds are earmarked to support a local clinic, local support groups for parents and families of clients with MD, assistance with the repair of wheelchairs, leg braces and communication devices, and a special summer camp for area children and young adults with MD.
