Purpose:
Assist the In-Kind team with data management of In-Kind Donors. Ensure that all disaster donation documentation is captured for records. Work closely with the IKD team members on donor solicitation of information and the management of existing and new donor accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Data Input (managing information)
  • Emailing and calling donors
  • Updating donor information in various locations
  • Mailing Thank you and Tax Compliance letters

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience using various web based systems
  • Data entry
  • Attention to detail or detail oriented

Length of Apointment: Present-June 27, 2014

Time Commitment: 4-8 hours M-F

Development Opportunities:

  • Gain knowledge of In-Kind metrics for accounting for donations
  • Learn the In-Kind donation acceptance process implemented by the Red Cross
  • Learn new business systems
  • Obtain skills that would be beneficial if deployed to a disaster as an In-Kind volunteer

Description

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
