Volunteers are the HEART of Heartland Hospice! Do you know how to play an instrument and/or enjoy singing? We are looking for more special individuals in Port Washington, or a surrounding community, to join our growing team of superstar volunteers! Musician volunteers enrich the lives of hospice patients in their area by sharing their talents during regular visits. In addition to providing music, volunteers offer much-needed socialization and one-on-one support. Service hours are extremely flexible and scheduled according to your availability and location.
Musician volunteers have the power to bring the greatest gifts to our patients’ lives... uplifting music, a smile and reassurance that comes with knowing they are genuinely cared for! If you have a little extra time to give to share your love of melody, and have a big heart, contact us today to learn more about this unique volunteer opportunity.
Interested applicants will be: at least 18 years old (or 16 if accompanied by a parent or guardian); agree to a background and reference check; attend a volunteer orientation; and complete two TB tests and Covid vaccine documentation required. Reliable transportation is a must!

Description
Heartland offers hospice services wherever a patient calls home, whether the care is provided in a home setting, assisted living facility or skilled nursing center. We are committed to providing comfort of the mind, body and spirit. Our specially trained staff helps manage pain and symptoms, thereby enabling patients to live their lives as fully as possible. In addition, our team members create a comforting environment and provide emotional support to families who need help coping with the loss of a loved one.

The hospice volunteer program ensures that patients spend their final days in dignity and comfort and provide the extra love and care our clients and their families need at this time in their life.
