Work with under-served youth on activities such as arts, crafts, math and literacy during summer break. NAC's affordable housing community offers a summer program for youth ages 6-12. Volunteers are needed for 2-3 hours each day.
This is a great opportunity for small groups looking to make a difference in the life of a child. Research shows that quality summer programs can be effective in improving student achievement and mitigates summer learning loss. NAC takes pride in it's housing communities and strives to provide services to residents to improve their quality of life and empower families.
The summer program will run Monday - Thursday each week in June and July from 11am - 3pm. Volunteers are needed to run the afternoon group activity.
From 1pm-3pm volunteers are needed to provide and manage activities that can range from Arts & Crafts, Literacy, Sports, or Match. Volunteers can sign up for 1 day, a few days or even a whole week.
Duties include
- Preparing an activity for a group of 35 youth
- Provide any supplies, tools or resources that are needed for the activity
- Engage, listen and inspire the youth
This volunteer opportunity is suitable for group of 2-5 people.
