Wayne Metro's Foreclosure Intervention Program provides assistance and support to individuals and families struggling to keep up with their housing payments, facing the possibility of foreclosure or need a more affordable option. This volunteer position is to assist the Foreclosure Department on a regular basis with administrative tasks, client screening, and resource development.
Responsibilities:
- Scan documents and put client files together in funder required order.
- Return phone calls to prospective clients to screen for eligibility.
- Develop and maintain a resource guide to meet changing client needs.
- Supervise computer lab when clients are present and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications:
- A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the position
- Administrative experience.
- Attention to detail and an ability to keep accurate records.
- Positive and professional phone demeanor.
- Intermediate level Internet and computer skills.
Time Commitment:
- This position ideally would require six hours a week initially, but could become less as need warrants.
- This is an ongoing volunteer position and a long term commitment is required as department specific training will be provided.

- 2,701 households improve home energy efficiency through home repairs
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- 15 small Detroit-based organizations assisted with the Detroit Residents First Fund that works to elevate the voices of local Detroiters
Over the last four decades, the Agency’s budget has grown from $100,000 to over $100 million while continuing to maintain a low administrative rate (8%) that allows $.92 of every funded or donated dollar to be utilized for direct client services.
