Computer & Technology Resource Center is looking for enthusiastic interns and volunteers for our main Marin office in Bel Marin Keys and our outhreach events.
- Tech expert - we need a skilled volunteer with lots of experience repairing things like stereo equiment, amps, keyboards etc. We'd like to take these items out of the waste stream and upcycle them so they don't have to go to the dump! The revenues from selling these could help pay for our training and education programs as well as our free computer placement program.
- Placement intern: assist our Computer Placement Coordinator making calls to the community to raise awareness of our free computer placement program. One day a week.
- Table volunteers: support our e-waste collections team at special events - like Earth Day Marin - by helping man our information table and talking to folks about our recycling and training programs. Upcoming dates September 13, 2014/October 13, 2014
- Job training: Tech nights! Anyone who wants to help us re-build computers and load Ubuntu Linux on them is welcome to join us. No experience needed! take part in our free job-training program on Thursday evenings in Marin! We open our tech benches on Thursdays from 5pm-9pm.
Learn to refurbish computers with our staff!

Description
CTRC is a non-profit environmental charity with locations in Marin and Alameda Counties. We recycle household electronics and give away free refurbished computers to those in need to help narrow the digital divide around the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1994 we have given away thousands of computers to schools, non-profit organizations and economically and/or physically disadvantaged individuals. Discarded electronics are reclaimed and refurbished in our training program where volunteers learn to restore computers for home, school, and office applications.
