The Blackhawk Church Food Pantry Garden is a 2-acre farm where volunteers work to grow produce to be donated to local food pantries.
Volunteers are guided by a lead gardener in carrying out various gardening tasks, such as planting, weeding and harvesting. No gardening experience is necessary.
It is recommended that volunteers consider bringing a water bottle and gardening gloves, as well as sunscreen and bug spray (depending on the time of day one chooses to come). Attire (including footwear) should be suitable for garden work.
Additional work sessions throughout the week can be arranged for groups.
