Team Picture with Homeowner

Rebuilding Together Omaha is looking for photographers who have a passion for helping people and the Omaha community. Volunteer photographers are needed to be a part of our National Rebuilding Day (the last Saturday of April) by photographing our project volunteers, sponsors, and beneficiaries. Some photographers, based on individual availability and our organization's need, might also be asked to take before and after photos of our project sites or help us organize a "time series" shoot that day. Take 25 spectacular pictures at three or four project sites and then share them with us- simple as that!

Mission Statement

Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners, with a vision of a safe and healthy home for every person.

Description

Rebuilding Together Omaha addresses home repair and modification needs of the low-income elderly and disabled homeowners in our community through four programs:

  • Rebuilding Day - Teams of volunteers join together on the last Saturday in April to repair and restore houses, making a lasting impression on the families and individuals who are helped. Rebuilding Day is at the cornerstone of Rebuilding Together’s mission to preserve affordable homeownership, while impacting communities nationwide on a single day.

  • Home Modification Program - Designed to enhance the ability of persons with disabilities to remain in their homes and prevent unnecessary institutionalization. Home modifications are adaptations to the living environment intended to increase independence, safety and security.

  • Healthy at Home - Our emergency repair program allows homeowners to stay in their homes by providing critical repairs such as broken toilets and other plumbing repairs, electrical emergencies, gas leaks, caving foundations and other serious problems requiring immediate attention. We utilize volunteers when possible, but require mostly paid trade professionals to respond to serious emergency needs that cannot wait for the annual Rebuilding Day. The program is considered a safety net designed to cut through "red tape" and address problems on an immediate basis.

  • Raise the Roof - Leaking roofs cause devastating damage to a home’s safety as water seeps into ceilings and walls. The walls and ceilings collapse. Electrical wiring burns out presenting a fire hazard. Mold grows causing breathing disorders. Our roof repair and replacement program makes the difference in preserving the integrity of homes.

Our services help homeowners remain in their homes in safety, warmth and independence.
