The American Red Cross seeks a volunteer to support the Quality and Learning Unit within the International Response and Programs (IRP) division. The volunteer will work with the Quality and Learning technical advisors, namely the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisors and Analyst, who are responsible for providing technical expertise to programs and projects internationally. He/she will gain knowledge and experience in international programming while providing contributions to IRP’s information and knowledge management efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Support knowledge and information management efforts by developing an Access database to capture learning from projects and programs;
- Ensure easy integration of database with project management information system design.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in database design, specifically Microsoft Access;
- Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills;
- Experience in systems and information architecture design highly desirable;
- Must be responsible, reliable, mature, able to work independently, highly organized, and able to work under deadline pressure;

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
