The Space Foundation and Space Foundation Discovery Center have volunteer opportunities for volunteers to serve as docents, STEM lab techs, and education and group support volunteers. Our volunteers support our mission in the Discovery Center by supporting our space awareness efforts with public events and group visitors as well as educational groups. Volunteer opportunities with the Space Foundation Discovery Center range from volunteering in our El Pomar Space Gallery, our interactive labs (Northrop Grumman Science on a Sphere, Mars Robotics Laboratory, & our AGI Space Missions Lab) as well as activity support, collections, and safety and security volunteer positions. A main mission our volunteers support us with is helping to spread space awareness in a fun, interactive and learning environment. We also have various office projects and other volunteer opportunities available in our Space Foundation Headquarters office. If you love space, or would like to learn more about space, we'd enjoy having you join our volunteer team to support our mission: To Advance Space-Related Endeavors to Inspire, Enable and Propel Humanity.

Description
The United States Space Foundation (Foundation), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1983, has re-focused and energized its mission and goals under new leadership since 1997. While other organizations focus on classroom activities for children or curriculum development, the Foundation Education Team‚s core competency is professional development for kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) teachers. The Foundation formed strategic partnerships and alliances with these organizations and with others in the pre-college and higher educational community, government and industry in order to help achieve the education mission.
