We *should* be working on the far west end of the Wild Turkey Trail, which starts at the first bridge on the Riverside Trail, connects to both campgrounds , meanders past two of the park's wetlands and will join its current path at the Tower Trail.
The loop formed by the Wild Turkey Trail, Tower Trail, and Riverside Trail should be 3.1 - 3.5 miles long, perfect for a trail 5K, like the Dirty Spokes Georgia State Parks Trail Run Series at The Bend on August 16, 2014!

Description
Friends of Chattahoochee Bend, a chapter of Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, is a group of local volunteers who work to support Chattahoochee Bend State Park in numerous ways. Our volunteers built and maintain the 12+ miles of hiking trail and 3 miles of bike trail. We also often help out with special events, improvement projects and maintenance tasks at the park. Through partnerships with local business and community leaders, we help fund site improvements, maintenance needs and interpretive programming.
