Become an Alzheimer's Association Dementia Caregivers Support Group Facilitator. Teach families how this costly disease affects the body and the caregivers of the persons experiencing it. Background check and training are required and will be provided. Once orientation and training are complete, time and commitment will vary. This is an ideal opportunity for retired professionals.

Davis County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is for people age 55 or more. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include:

  • Supplemental insurance while in service
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from volunteer site
  • Ongoing recognition programs throughout the year

Mission Statement

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.

Description

Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.

RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.

When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
