Altus Hospice is looking for awesome, loving, and caring volunteers to help with several programs.
11th Hour Angels- Volunteers who will simply just "be there" during the final hours of life, even if it is just to hold the hand of the patient. Any volunteer can participate in this special & much needed service. This would be perfect for those with very flexible schedules, or even a "night owl". Hours will vary, depending on # of volunteers available and the patient's dying process. Short notices of need may also occur as well, since death is unpredictable in nature. However, volunteers will be assigned based upon their availability. We have this program with the goal that no hospice patient is alone in their final hours. Churches and other organizational groups are welcomed. Training provided. Note: 11th Hour Angel volunteers do not have to be ministers, they are specially trained volunteers who have the heart to "Just be there" when our patients need them most.
Patient Volunteers - Our patients need friends!! They all have interests and amazing stories to tell and they need someone to listen to them. Do you enjoy playing games or reading a book? Our patients sure do.
Volunteers are crucial for these programs to succeed! Get involved and be a blessing to someone by taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Volunteers and interns needed. This qualifies for in service hours.
We need volunteers in The Woodlands, Tomball, Spring, north west Houston and many other areas. Volunteers will be assigned a patient close to their location.

Must complete training.
Valid Driver’s License or ID
Complete a Background check.
Complete a Tuberculosis Test and drug screen. Free of Charge.
Have reliable transportation.
