Encourage visitors of all ages to think and learn about animals, habitats and conservation by helping them interpret exhibits. After training, Interpreters spend time on zoo grounds engaging visitors with activities, fun stations and biofacts.

Mission Statement
Zoo New England manages Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and Stone Zoo in Stoneham. Both zoos are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Zoo New England's mission is to inspire people to protect and sustain the natural world for future generations by creating fun and engaging experiences that integrate wildlife and conservation programs, research, and education.
Description
Zoo New England's core activities are its naturalistic exhibits, educational programs and conservation efforts. ZNE recreates habitats from around the world which house a diverse animal collection of local and global significance. These exciting and naturalistic settings furnish educational opportunities for visitors to understand the complex relationships of biological communities and the need for healthy wildlife habitats. By engaging guests in the lives and habitats of different creatures, we promote ecological literacy by creating diverse learning expereiences. Volunteers, fulfilling many different roles throughout the organization, are important and valued members of the Zoo New England team.
