ORGANIZATION: National MS Society, Greater Illinois

Help to create a fun, safe environment for campers in which they can play, relax, challenge themselves, and discuss their experience of having a loved one who has MS. In partnership with other volunteers, camp staff, and Chapter staff, you will provide supervision, support, and guidance to participants at MS Youth Camp. Co-lead an assigned group of 8-12 youth. We are looking for volunteers who will be there for the entire week on a full-time basis. All room, board and travel expenses will be paid for by the National MS Society.

  • MS Youth Camp is for youth, ages 9-17, living with a parent or close relative who has multiple sclerosis.
  • MS Youth Camp is a week-long residential camp taking place at YMCA Camp Icaghowan in Amery, WI during the week of June 16-20, 2015.
  • more than 100 campers are expected in 2015
  • Campers are organized into small groups of 8-12 by age. Each group has a team of 2-3 volunteer counselors.
  • Structured programming is offered throughout each day, and includes swimming, high ropes, hiking, crafts, games, archery, and MS education and awareness.
