Are you looking to get introduced to volunteering with a team through a fun, educational and service-focused opportunity? Do you want to learn more about community issues and local nonprofits while meeting new people? Looking to try out volunteer opportunities in the Inland Empire but unsure where to start? Join TeamWorks! TeamWorks is a introductory team-based volunteer opportunity that combines volunteerism, team building, reflection sessions and issue education to produce a unique team-based service learning program. TeamWorks introduces volunteer teams in the Inland Empire to regional challenges in the areas of health, education and financial stability.
TeamWorks will focus on targeting the issue of Education with an emphasis on college and career readiness. Teams will commit to five service projects during the months of April through May and will become familiar with both community issues and the organizations addressing critical community needs. The TeamWorks experience begins with a kick-off event where participants meet fellow team members and program participants, and learn more about the round's projects. Individuals and small groups are encouraged to sign up.
We will be hosting our Kick-Off meeting Monday, April 13, 2015 at 3 pm to 5pm. Snacks and water will be provided. At the Kick-Off meeting, you will learn more about TeamWorks, meet your teammates, and be introduced to the organization we will be partnering with this round. This round, teams will be working with Think Together. Think Together is an after-school program that creates opportunities for all kids to discover their passions and reach their full potential.
As we will be working with an after-school program organization, specifically working with students, all volunteers will have to undergo a background check that will be conducted at the Kick-Off meeting. The background check cost will be covered by Think Together.
