Major Projects for the Volunteer Services Intern will be: Recruit volunteers for key departmental needs, working with the Director of Volunteer services and within the strategic plan. Monitor the workflow of the Volunteer Management Team. Support and direct volunteer engagement, referral and placement. Schedule and facilitate volunteer management trainings for members as needed and ensure consistent communication between team members and the Director of Volunteer Services.

Qualifications: Undergraduate Junior or Senior with a background in Business, Management, Volunteer Management or Human Resources. Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, basic Power Point. Will need to learn Volunteer Connection (internal application) fairly quickly. An intuitive approach to learning computer applications.

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
