Under the direction and guidance of the Senior Director of Volunteer Resources, the Volunteer Engagement Intern provides assistance recruiting, orienting, and placing new volunteers; maintaining records of volunteer service; addressing current volunteer needs and concerns; coordinating volunteer meetings, activities, and events; and overseeing a mutually agreed upon project from concept to implementation. Qualifications:Underdraduate student with a background in Communications, HR, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Management, Sociology or Non-profit management. Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, and the internet.
PLEASE NOTE: While this internship is unfortunately not able to provide compensation, it may be used for college credit.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
