Approximately 55,000 of Austinites still do not use the internet. In today’s digital society, an understanding of technology is crucial order for people to be fully involved and successful.
The Empower program at Skillpoint Alliance offers bilingual basic and fundamental computer training to Central Texans wishing to improve their skills. Courses begin by covering the basics, such as using the internet and creating an word document. After completing the course, participants will have increased their computer literacy.
We are looking for volunteers that can speak English AND Spanish, and are familiar with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and mobile technology/apps. Our volunteers need to be patient people dedicated to lending a hand to those who aren't up to speed with basic computer skills. We want our participants to leave our program fully computer proficient, and with enough confidence to achieve their goals.
Our next Empower Series begins on January 25th 2016, Please email our empower@skillpointalliance.org for more infomation!
