ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Inc.

Purpose: To provide ongoing direct help to Leadership Teams in understanding and implementing the Girl Scout program.

Length: 1 year

Duties:

  • Work with new troop leaders to get them trained and their troops up and running to help the Service Unit meet membership and retention goals.
  • Serve as a coach to new leadership Teams as they get started with their troops.
  • Assist Leadership Teams with planning their first troop meeting and first parents’ meeting.
  • Attend recruitments to meet and assist new Leadership Teams
  • Help Leadership Teams plan a well-rounded program based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Discover-Connect-Take Action, the keys to leadership, and to provide consistent Girl Scout experiences for girls.

Qualifications:

  • Become a registered Girl Scout Member
  • Submit a volunteer application and criminal background check
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Uses discretion in all confidential matters
  • Able to appreciate cultural differences
  • Prior Girl Scout experience
  • Must be 21 or older
