If you have a passion for caring for others, and if you’re looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives and your own, please consider becoming a Beacon Hospice Volunteer.
The Beacon Hospice approach to care creates an environment of hope, comfort, and dignity for both hospice patients and their families. Our patient centered approach extends through our volunteers, as a helping hand and calming presence can make an enormous difference in the lives of others.
As you can imagine, the activities you will do as a Beacon Hospice Volunteer may come in many forms. From reading at a patient’s bedside and knitting lap blankets, to joining Reiki and pet therapy programs...there is something for everyone. With many different and unique volunteer opportunities, all free of cost, becoming a Beacon Hospice volunteer is a great way to make a lasting difference in your own life and in the lives of others.
At Beacon Hospice we have patients living at home and patients in nursing facilities. Our coverage area is from Westford, Billerica, Chelmsford, Lowell, North Andover, Andover, Lawrence, Methuen, Haverhill, Merrimac, Amesbury, Newburyport, and Salisbury. There is no asking a volunteer to travel more than you want to.
New volunteers are asked to complete an application and participate in an 8-10 hour group training program or a 1-on-1 5 hour training. Anyone who completes the training program receives a certification of completion. To request an application or to get additional information regarding becoming a hospice volunteer, please call Adreana Krukowski at 978-837-3333in the Methuen office.
