Responsibilities for Communications and Events Intern may include:
Events
- Communicate with vendors during event planning stage.
- Organize and distribute events materials.
- Maintain address, invitation and RSVP list- to include ticket and table sales.
- Assist with procurement of silent and loud auction items.
Communications
- Partner with Regional Communications Director and Executive Director on event materials.
Qualifications: Undergraduate junior or senior with a background in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or Business. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Publisher, and Adobe. Experience with various online platforms and social media tools (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter). Spanish a plus.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
