The Public Library is seeking volunteers to assist with STEAM-related programs for families. Programs include Makerspace, Take-It-Apart Tuesdays, Science afternoons, and Crafternoons. Your primary role will be to support current and developing programs, but the Library is also seeking motivated volunteers interested in leading classes. If you have a passion for creation or enjoy exploring and learning, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Staff will provide training and the time commitment will be based on the programs you’re involved with.
STEM education refers to the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEAM education incorporates the "A" for the arts - recognizing that to be successful in technical fields, individuals must also be creative and use critical thinking skills which are best developed through exposure to the arts.
