The Youth Volunteer Programs Intern will assist with the administration and implementation of summer programs that are staffed by teen volunteers, including:
- Summer youth education projects: Special projects TBA (depending on youth volunteer interest and availability) but will include coordinating a local tour of one or more of our educational puppet shows, our preparedness education games and/or our live actional preparedness skits.
- Summer youth program: Recruiting, placing and managing in-house youth volunteers who assist with clerical projects throughout the chapter.
- Leadership Development Camp, our annual 4-day, 3-night teen leadership conference (held in July). Responsibilities will include reviewing applications, communicating with candidates, training and coordinating high school counselors, making camper session assignments, attending camp and assistting with program logistics, conducting follow-up activities with campers.
Qualifications: Undergraduate junior or senior preferred with a background in Education, Organizational Development or Human Resources. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and internet research.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
